The department’s 2014-15 annual report highlights emergency management reform including the introduction of the Inspector-General for Emergency Management and appointment of Victoria’s inaugural Inspector-General, Tony Pearce.

The report also highlights IGEM’s activities including:

  • development of the monitoring and assurance framework for emergency management
  • review of performance targets for bushfire fuel management on public land
  • monitoring the implementation of agreed reform actions from the Victorian Bushfires Royal Commission and the 2013–14 fire season reports
  • performance monitoring of the Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority call taking and dispatch activities.

The department tabled its 2014-15 annual report in parliament on 10 November 2015.
