This Saturday the Hawthorn Football Club will honour our sector workers in the third annual Emergency Services Match against the Richmond Football Club.

In addition to acknowledging the work of frontline personnel, the club's Emergency Services Match is also an opportunity to raise awareness of the impact this work can have on the mental health and wellbeing of all sector workers.

After being unable to celebrate this match in 2021, the club will welcome it back bigger and better than ever in 2022.

This year's match will be particularly meaningful to the club’s partner emergency services organisations in Victoria.

The services have been considerably tested in response to a number of devastating emergencies in the past two years, plus the work on the frontline response to the pandemic.

Each year, the club's Emergency Services Match is an opportunity to thank these dedicated people while also raising awareness of the impact this work can have on the mental health and wellbeing of all of the people working tirelessly in these fields.

The event kicks off from 11am with a special FanZone outside gate 3 and pre-game ceremony.

The Fan Zone will showcase emergency service vehicles and watercraft. Police horses, police dogs, Ember the therapy dog, team mascots, workers and volunteers from emergency service agencies will be there too!

A live band, games and activities will also keep everyone entertained. Event sponsor Bank Vic will run a competition to win $10,000, with entries sending a message of support to the emergency services.

Inside the ‘G’, Vanessa Amorosi will perform live as emergency services personnel take part in a colourful ceremony from 1pm. The first bounce is at 1.45pm.

Signing up for the club's Emergency Services Membership (External link) will also support the Emergency Services Foundation
