The Inspector-General’s independent Inquiry into the 2019–20 Victorian Fire Season and their Review of 10 years of reform in Victoria’s emergency management sector identified a range of opportunities for improvement to how Victoria prepares, responds, and recovers from emergencies.
The Inspector‐General now monitors and reports on progress of departments and agencies with implementing actions in response to recommendations from the Inquiry and the Review.
The 2021 monitoring report details progress with implementation of 17 recommendations related to fire season preparation and response, to be addressed through 113 actions.
It also reports on implementation of the Review’s five recommendations and 26 related reform actions. These recommendations are all relevant to the Inquiry’s findings.
The 2022 monitoring report will be published on this website subject to approval from the minister.
