On 16 April 2024 the Victorian Government appointed Dr Emily Phillips as the new Inspector-General for Emergency Management.
Dr Phillips brings a wealth of knowledge to the role having served as Deputy Secretary and Chief Executive Officer across key emergency management responsibilities including water, agriculture, telecommunications and local government.
She begins her 5-year term on 3 June 2024.
Dr Phillips succeeds Mr Tony Pearce who was appointed as Victoria's inaugural IGEM in 2014, and who stepped down from his term on 16 February 2024.
Sam Redlich – Inspector-General
For the interim period, Sam Redlich, Deputy Inspector-General, is the Inspector-General for Emergency Management.
Sam will hold this role until Dr Phillips commences on 3 June 2024.
