On Friday 8 March, the Inspector-General for Emergency Management (IGEM) is celebrating International Women’s Day with our emergency management partners and showcasing how our sector works together to reduce the likelihood, effect and consequences of emergencies on Victorian communities.

Under the theme of ‘More Powerful Together’, we are recognising the importance of all genders working together to build safer communities. The day will also celebrate the contributions of women to the sector and promote career paths for women.

On the day you will be able to meet with representatives from more than 20 organisations - including IGEM - and find out about the diverse and rewarding range of career paths in Victoria’s emergency management sector ranging from research, analysis and investigation, communications, media and human resources, through to lifesaver, firefighter, paramedic and emergency call-taker. You will also be able to find out about the sector’s many volunteer roles!

This a free event and runs from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Federation Square has lift access and is wheelchair accessible.
