The Midsumma Festival (External link), Victoria's premier LGBTQIA+ cultural festival, kicks off on 19 January 2020.

Emergency management personnel, through the Emergency Management Pride Network, will be supporting the three week festival, with a stall set up at the Midsumma Carnival (External link) on 19 January. Come along to the Alexandra Gardens and show your support, with an all-day and all-night party to celebrate the beginning of another fabulous festival.

IGEM staff will join colleagues from Ambulance Victoria, Country Fire Authority, Metropolitan Fire and Emergency Services Brigade, Emergency Management Victoria, Victoria State Emergency Service, Forest Fire Management Victoria, Life Saving Victoria, Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority, Environment Protection Agency and St John and others in showing their support throughout the day.

As part of the Midsumma Festival, the Pride March is taking place on 2 February and is an opportunity to celebrate everyone being acknowledged and included for who they are - in the emergency management sector and Victorian community. The Network is starting the day with a shared brunch at the Alex Theatre (Fitzroy Street, St. Kilda) before the march at Ian Johnson Oval in St. Kilda.

It's a day for everyone - members of the LGBTI community, allies, family and friends - so please join in and be part of a celebration of belonging.
