Now in its 21st year, the annual Victorian Multicultural Awards for Excellence are proudly coordinated by the Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC).
The Multicultural Awards for Excellence formally recognise people and organisations who have fostered cross-cultural understanding and supported those with migrant, refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds to fully participate in all aspects of Victorian life.
Until Sunday 7 August, the VMC is inviting nominations (External link) across 14 award categories including emergency services.
This category recognises people, units, clubs or stations working or volunteering for Victoria’s emergency services who promote and champion cultural diversity and address the specific needs of multicultural communities.
Eligibility is open to individuals, units, clubs and stations belonging to:
- Ambulance Victoria
- Australian Red Cross
- Country Fire Authority
- Fire Rescue Victoria
- Forest Fire Management Victoria
- Life Saving Victoria
- Marine Search and Rescue
- State Emergency Service
