Review of Performance Targets for Bushfire Fuel Management on Public Land

In February 2015, the Victorian Government requested the Inspector-General for Emergency Management (IGEM) conducted a review of performance targets for bushfire fuel management on public land.

IGEM's report into Victoria’s fuel management targets provides four recommendations for the way forward in Victoria’s fuel management, including a shift away from a hectare-based fuel reduction target to a risk-reduction target, which is also the same view of the Bushfires Royal Commission Implementation Monitor.

The report was released on 21 May 2015 and is available from the link below.
